‘Very high fire risk in Rhodope’ Ministry warns!
According to the Fire Risk Forecast Map published by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the province of Rhodope is today (Monday 26 August) included in the areas with Very High Fire Risk.
Being in the 4th risk category means that the number of possible fires is more than one and if the conditions are favourable, the fires can spread.
In case of fire, citizens are asked to call 199 or 112 call centre and provide clear information about the location of the fire.
The General Secretariat of Civil Defence asked citizens to be especially careful and advised them to avoid actions that may cause fire as a result of negligence, such as burning dry grass and branches in rural areas, using sparking machines, lighting barbecues outdoors, throwing lit cigarettes.
It was also reminded that it is forbidden to burn stubble in the fields during the fire season.
