Twenty new employees have taken up positions within the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace, helping address staffing shortages in Thessaloniki and other areas under the administration’s jurisdiction.

The employees, who were recruited through procedures overseen by Greece’s Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP), were welcomed on Tuesday, September 22, by Dimitris Galamatis, secretary of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace, at his office in Thessaloniki.

The new hires are expected to strengthen public services across the region and fill key personnel gaps affecting the administration’s operations.

FOCUS ON FASTER AND BETTER PUBLIC SERVICES
During the meeting, Galamatis stressed that strengthening the Decentralized Administration with additional personnel should not be viewed simply as an increase in staff numbers.

He said the additional human resources should be reflected directly in the quality and speed of services provided to citizens.

The appointments come as public administration bodies in northern Greece continue efforts to reinforce their staffing capacity and improve the delivery of services across their areas of responsibility.
