Turkish-language textbooks from Türkiye arrive in Western Thrace
As in previous years, Turkish-language textbooks have arrived from Türkiye at the beginning of the new school year for use in Western Thrace’s minority schools.
Within the framework of ongoing educational cooperation between Greece and Türkiye, the new textbooks—prepared by Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education—arrived in the region on Monday, October 6, 2025.
The materials, designated for the 2025–2026 academic year, include textbooks for Turkish Language, Mathematics, Science and Technology, and Religious Culture and Ethics.
The books were received at Osmaniye Turkish Minority Primary School and Celal Bayar Turkish Minority Secondary School and High School in Komotini (Gümülcine). Distribution to all Turkish Minority schools in the region is expected to be completed in the coming days.
This delivery is part of the regular exchange agreements maintained between Greece and Türkiye in the field of education.
