Turkish coffee brings together Western Thracian Turks in Komotini
5 December World Turkish Coffee Day was celebrated with an event at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini. Turkish coffee was sipped with a chat at the event which brought together kinsmen.
The event was held today (Tuesday, 5 December) between 14.00 - 16.00 and the participants showed great interest. In addition, the Darbuka Rhythm Workshop of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (WTMUGA) added a different colour to the programme with its folk songs and songs. In addition to Turkish coffee, traditional Turkish desserts were also served at the event.
At the end of the event, Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal thanked the participants of the event and the members of BTAYTD Darbuka Rhythm Workshop.
The event hosted by Consul General Aykut Ünal and his wife İlayda Ünal was attended by İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Elected Mufti of Komotini, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Minister of Friendship Equality Peace Party, Özgür Ferhat, Independent MP, representatives of Turkish minority institutions and organisations and many kinsmen.
