Trip to İpsala and Çanakkale organised by İTB and GTGB youth branches
Members of the Youth Section of Xanthi Turkish Union (ITB) and Komotini Turkish Youth Union (GTGB) participated in a trip to Ipsala and Çanakkale on Friday 19 May.
The members of the Youth Section of ITB and GTGB travelled to Turkey upon the invitation of İpsala District Governorship and visited İpsala and Çanakkale for two days.
On 19 May Atatürk's Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day, the youth participated in the ceremonies organised for the events and met with İpsala District Governor Ömer Sevgili. After the performance of the primary school students in İpsala, Ömer Sevgili, the district governor of İpsala, was presented a gift by the members of İTB and GTGB Youth Branch. The young people who mingled with the students studying in Turkey had fun together in the ceremony area. After the ceremony, the youth watched the cinevision show. In the evening, Ömer Sevgili, the district governor of Ipsala, visited the young people in their dormitory and chatted with them. Young people from Western Thrace participated in the Lantern Procession in the evening. In the sports facilities of the dormitory, a football and volleyball match was organised between ITB Youth Section and GTGB New Generation Section. On Saturday, 20 May, the members of the Youth Section participated in a trip to Çanakkale and visited the martyrs' cemeteries and the historical peninsula. The young people were very satisfied with the trip and returned to Greece.
