Trafficker transporting 12 people arrested
A foreign smuggler, who was promoting illegal immigrants inside the country, was arrested on Saturday at noon on the Egnatia highway Komotini - Xanthi, by officers of the Sapes Border Guard Department of the Rhodope Police Directorate, a foreign smuggler.
Specifically, the police officers arrested the man because they found him driving a car, lacking a driving license and illegally transporting twelve illegal immigrants inside the country.
It is noted that the driver - smuggler initially did not comply with a stop signal of the police and developed speed, driving dangerously, and subsequently immobilized the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot without succeeding, resisting during his arrest.
The above vehicle, a forged passport found in the possession of the driver-trafficker and two mobile phones were seized.
