Traditional sacrifice ceremony in Salıncak draws large participation

The event, known as the “Salıncak Sacrifice”, has been jointly observed by the villages of Mehrikoz and Salıncak for generations. This year’s ceremony took place on Sunday, September 21, hosted by the people of Salıncak. Guests were served bakırlama, a traditional local meat dish prepared especially for the occasion.
The gathering was attended by Kozlukebir Mayor Erdem Hüseyin, Eastern Macedonia–Thrace Regional Governor’s Advisor Ahmet Osman Pehlivan, Kozlukebir Municipality Opposition Leader Tarkan Multaza, Seçek Minority Education and Culture Association President Necmettin Kahya, BAKEŞ President Dr. Hüseyin Bostancı, Sofulu Küçük Derbent Village Headman Mehmet Bostancı, Sofulu Municipal Council Member Mehmet Çilingir, as well as regional opinion leaders Hasan Apti, Mehmet Koç, and Ahmet Paşa. Many compatriots from neighboring villages also joined the festivities.
The event once again highlighted the community’s commitment to preserving and passing on its cultural and religious traditions from one generation to the next.
