TİKA Vice President Mahmut Çevik visits İskeçe for official meetings

Vice President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Mahmut Çevik, conducted a series of official visits in İskeçe (Xanthi) on Wednesday, June 18, as part of his working contacts in the region.
His first stop was the Muftiate of İskeçe, where he was welcomed by the Mufti of İskeçe and Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board, Mustafa Trampa, along with staff members from the Muftiate. He was accompanied by Turkish Consul General in Komotini Aykut Ünal and Vice Consul Adnan Öztürk.
In a statement by the Muftiate regarding the visit, it was noted:
“Today, we had the honor of hosting Mr. Mahmut Çevik, Vice President of TİKA, in a courtesy visit to our institution. The meeting included fruitful discussions and exchanges of ideas regarding the Western Thrace Turkish Minority. Mr. Çevik expressed his gratitude for the hospitality, while our honorable Mufti conveyed his appreciation for the visit.”
Following the visit to the Muftiate, the delegation proceeded to the İskeçe Turkish Union (İTB). Mufti Trampa also joined this segment of the program.
These high-level visits underscore Türkiye’s ongoing support for the Western Thrace Turkish community and affirm the commitment to strengthening cultural and institutional ties between Turkey and the region.
