A large-scale Quran completion ceremony drew thousands of participants in the village of Ketenlik, located in İskeçe, highlighting strong community engagement in religious and cultural education activities in the region.

The event, organized for students of the Ketenlik Quran Course operating under the Mufti’s Office of İskeçe, was held on Sunday, May 17, at the Ketenlik Upper Neighborhood Mosque.

A total of 26 students who completed their Quran studies performed recitations, hymns, and poetry during the ceremony, creating emotional moments for attendees. The event was organized by parents and local villagers and attracted widespread participation from the community.

The closing prayer of the ceremony was led by Mustafa Trampa, who also addressed the importance of religious education and community cohesion.

The program included speeches by several prominent figures, including representatives of minority institutions and local authorities such as Kerem Abdurrahimoğlu, Burhan Baran, and Hüseyin Zeybek. Speakers emphasized the importance of preserving minority education, cultural identity, and unity within the Turkish Muslim community in Western Thrace.

During the event, outgoing mosque imam Sami İsmailko was honored with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his long-standing service to the community.

Following the prayer led by Mufti Mustafa Trampa, participants were offered traditional meals including rice pilaf with meat and yogurt.

In a social media statement, Mufti Trampa praised the students’ performance and thanked families, teachers, and village representatives for their contributions, expressing hopes for the continued success and well-being of the children.

The ceremony concluded with group photographs and communal gatherings, marking a significant community event in Ketenlik.
