The people of Komotini are working hard for the earthquake victims
Due to the earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces in total, aid collection efforts continue in Komotini for earthquake victims.
The donations collected during the studies carried out in Komotini Turkish Youth Union are placed in boxes according to their types.
Sedat Hasan, President of GTGB, one of the centers where aid is collected, said, “As the advisory board, we collect our aid as trustees and mosque teachers in the villages, and GTGB, the Elected Mufti of Komotini and the Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association in Komotini and send them to the designated warehouses. We determined these warehouses as Domruköy Indoor Sports Hall and Yahyabeyli.”
Sedat Hasan said, “We sort the incoming aids, load them on trucks and send them to Türkiye. So far, we have filled 3 trucks and 1 truck from Komotini and sent them to Türkiye.”
Sedat Hasan stated that the collection of in-kind aids will continue until Sunday, February 12, and that the financial aids will be delivered to the necessary authorities as a whole after the collection process is over.
The Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board launched an aid campaign for earthquake victims in Türkiye and announced that it would collect both material and material aid, clothing and food aid. Idadiye Primary School and Celal Bayar Minority Secondary School and High School in Komotini also started to collect donations.
