The Elected Mufti of Komotini slams the ugliness against Qur'an
Emphasizing that they curse and condemn those who show disrespect, ugly behavior and actions against the Qur'an, those who support them, and those who do not take precautions, Mufti İbrahim Şerif said in his statement:
"At a time when we started to realize the Three Months, which are the spiritual seasons of the Islamic World and Muslims, we witnessed another ugly and hate crime action perpetrated against our holy book, the Qur'an, as it was yesterday.
We condemn the burning of our Holy Book, the Holy Qur'an, in front of the Turkish Embassy in Sweden, which has made such acts of insults against Islam and Muslims a habit.
We would like to remind you that this attitude of the Western World, which says that they see attacking people's sacred values as freedom of thought, has led to the spread of this and similar acts of hatred.
We have full faith in the promise of our Almighty Lord that He will complete His light.
We will give the best answer to those who want to portray our religion, Islam, whose essence is peace, badly, by understanding our religion and our book, the Qur'an, and living it correctly.
We condemn those who commit such acts, support them and do not take precautions. May Almighty Allah grant guidance to all."
