The Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini celebrates Eid al-Adha
On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini on the second day of Eid al-Adha.
The ceremony was held on Thursday, 29 June, the second day of Eid al-Adha between 10.00 and 12.00. The Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal, his wife İlayda Ünal, and consulate officials welcomed the guests at the ceremony held in the garden of the Consulate General.
The ceremony was attended by İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, Özgür Ferhat, SYRIZA MP for the province of Rodopi, Burhan Baran, PASOK MP for Xanthi, Ahmet Ibram, Vice President of the Eastern Macedonian Thrace Province and members of the provincial assembly, Cigdem Asafoglu, President of the Friendship Equality Peace Party, Minister of Mustafçova Municipality Rıdvan Delihüseyin, Mayor of Kozlukebir Rıdvan Ahmet, Mayor of Komotini Yannis Garanis, Mayor of Maronya - Şapçı Dinos Haritopoulos, State Presidential Candidate Hristodoulos Topsidis, Presidents and executives of minority associations, local administrators and a large number of cognates attended.
After the Eid exchange ceremony at the Consulate General, the cognates had the opportunity to exchange with each other at the Komotini Turkish Youth Union. On the other hand, other minority organisations also paid Eid visits to each other.
