The collective iftar enthusiasm starts in Western Thrace
Hundreds of sojourners participated in the iftar meals in the villages located at two different ends of Western Thrace.
Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal attended the iftar dinner in Büyük Derbent village of Evros province as a guest. Consul General Ünal broke his fast together with hundreds of Western Thrace Turks.
With the arrival of the month of Ramadan in Western Thrace, traditional iftar organisations are organised especially in the villages. The iftar table in Büyük Derbent village brings together hundreds of cognates from the neighbouring villages as one of the traditional iftar invitations of Western Thrace.
In the same evening, hundreds of cognates enjoyed iftar together at the iftar table in Demircik village of Xanthi, which is located at the other end of Western Thrace.
Village iftar organisations will continue in the coming days. In this framework, a collective iftar organisation will be held in Mıkmıllı, one of the lowland villages of Xanthi, on Monday 18 March.
