On the other hand, YTB President Eren, who wrote the "Presentation" section of the book, made the following evaluations in this section:
"Western Thrace, which constitutes an inseparable part of the Balkans, and our compatriots, who are the essential element of Western Thrace, are of particular importance in these activities we carry out under the auspices of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). Our deep-rooted relations with the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and our collective consciousness of kinship constitute the triggering factor for us to maintain our relations with the Minority at the highest level and to defend the rights and freedoms of our kinsmen, which are based on international law. In this sense, the problems that the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace is currently exposed to, such as the denial of its ethnic identity and the violation of its freedom of association; its inability to benefit from equal opportunities in the field of education; the problems it experiences in the field of religious freedoms; the discriminatory legislation of the foundations belonging to the Minority; the non-delivery of the citizenship rights of the victims of Article 19; the obstacles at the level of political representation; the restrictions on freedom of expression and freedom of the press 14 Presentation stand out as issues awaiting a solution in the process so far. In addition to all these problems arising from the non-implementation by the Greek side of the provisions agreed upon in bilateral and international agreements, especially the Lausanne Treaty, the negative events that took place in Greece and Cyprus since the 1960s caused the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace to migrate to Turkey. Addressing these migrations, the psycho-sociological effects of which continue even today, with their different aspects, examining their causes and consequences in detail and analysing them systematically is one of the most important issues for Türkiye and Greece in proportion to the past, present and future of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace. Studies of this nature, which will keep the social memory of the minority alive and shoulder the legitimate struggle for existence, will pave the way for different researches to be carried out in the future and will play an important role in ensuring the rights and freedoms of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace in a fair manner. In this respect, I believe that this valuable study titled Migration from Western Thrace to Türkiye (1967-1995), which was prepared by highly competent names and which we are happy to publish within YTB Publications, will add strength to the just cause of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and will bring a new field."
