Suspects of Drosero arrested
The hearing regarding the murder committed in Xanthi, Drosero was held on Tuesday, March 22. As a result of the trial, in which strict police measures were taken, four people involved in the murder were sent to prison.
After committing the murder, the 37-year-old turned himself in to the police, and his two sons and son-in-law were also arrested and brought before a judge. With the agreement of the prosecutor, the two sons and son-in-law of the “murderer”, who were taken into custody, were sent to prison to be tried at a later date.
It was stated that the hearing took place before sunrise, outside the normal working hours of the courts, in order to prevent any incident from occurring.
Xanthi Courtyard was protected by two busloads of Riot Police (MAT) yesterday and the day before.

On the other hand, a group of people from Drosero neighborhood, who wanted to follow the hearing, marched from the Xanthi Courthouse to the Xanthi City Hall. A group of about 50 people, chanting slogans such as "We want justice and security," came to the Xanthi Municipality. Here, they could not get over the wall of flesh built by the riot police. The crowd, who demanded a meeting with the mayor, met with the vice mayors.
Later, Xanthi Deputy Mayors Manolis Fanurakis, Levent Karaosman, and Suha Bekiroğlu came to the people. A brief meeting was held between city officials and the protesters.
The group chanting slogans that we want justice, along with the person who killed the 37-year-old neighborhood resident, want his family to move with their children from the neighborhood to another place.
