Student Festival at Idadiye Minority Primary School draws large crowd
The event, held in the school’s courtyard, attracted a large turnout, including students, their families, and members of the local Turkish minority community.
Children enjoyed a full day of fun with games, competitions, and entertainment activities. In addition, food stands set up by parents offered a variety of traditional flavors, with meatball sandwiches being among the favorites.
Several prominent figures attended the event, including Aykut Ünal, Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini, and his wife İlayda Ünal; Komotini Mufti İbrahim Şerif; President of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (FEP) Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu; Rhodope MP Özgür Ferhat; Komotini Mayor Yannis Garanis; municipal council members; Deputy Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Rıdvan Molla İsa; Chairman of the Minority School Committees Association Mehmet Duban; President of the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers’ Union Aydın Ahmet; and Chairman of the Komotini Turkish Youth Union Sedat Hasan.
The event was praised for strengthening community bonds and celebrating cultural identity through joyful activities.
