A children’s festival organized at the Gümülcine 1st Turkish Minority Primary School is continuing with strong public participation, bringing together families, officials, and members of the Turkish minority community in Western Thrace.

The event, which began at 10:00 a.m. in the schoolyard, is scheduled to continue throughout the day and conclude at 10:00 p.m.

The festival hosts a wide range of activities designed for children and families, including music performances, entertainment programs, magic shows, and various interactive games. Food and beverage stalls set up in the schoolyard offer items such as traditional meat sandwiches and refreshments, creating a lively fair-like atmosphere.

Among the attendees were Turkish Consul General in Komotini Aykut Ünal, Gümülcine Mufti İbrahim Şerif, Rhodope Independent MP Özgür Ferhat, local government officials, association representatives, and a large number of parents and community members.

Throughout the day, children are actively participating in play areas and entertainment zones, while families join in the festive atmosphere, contributing to a strong sense of community engagement.

Organizers said the event reflects the unity and social cohesion of the Turkish minority in Western Thrace, offering an inclusive space for cultural interaction, recreation, and community bonding.
