Strong presence of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region at “Fruit Attraction 2025” in Madrid

The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMTH) successfully participated in the Fruit Attraction 2025 International Exhibition, held from September 30 to October 2 at the IFEMA–FERIA exhibition center in Madrid.

As one of the world’s leading events for the fruit and vegetable production and trade sector, the exhibition provided valuable networking opportunities and access to Latin American markets.

The EMTH Region participated with a collective pavilion hosting four local agrifood companies: Alkyon Fruits S.A., Papargyriou (Delta Spar), the Kato Nevrokopi Potato Producers Group, and Tasios Cereals Ltd. The initiative forms part of the Region’s extroversion and export promotion strategy, aiming to showcase the quality and identity of local products, strengthen exports, and connect regional producers with international buyers.

The Region was represented by two agronomists from the Directorate of Rural Economy and Veterinary Services (DAOK) of Rhodope.

Participation in Fruit Attraction 2025 proved highly beneficial for EMTH. The local businesses established valuable new contacts, while the international recognition of key regional products — such as Kato Nevrokopi potatoes, fruits, kiwis, and cereals — was further enhanced.

The initiative is part of a broader development plan led by Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis, focused on supporting the agrifood sector, promoting local products, and creating new business opportunities for producers in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
