Şapçı Iftar bring together hundreds of kinsmen at the same table
The iftar programme organised in the garden of the historical Hamidiye Mosque in Şapçı attracted great interest from the people of Şapçı and from the surrounding villages.
Before Iftar, the religious officer Ismail Ahmet recited the Holy Qur'an.
Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, who attended the iftar programme, made a speech indicating the meaning and importance of the day and thanked the people of Şapçı for their invitation.
The traditional iftar in Şapçı was attended by İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Komotini, Özgür Ferhat, MP for Rodopi, Apostolos Ioannu, Mayor of Şapçı - Maronya, Ali Topal Mehmet, Deputy Mayor and council members, Ahmet Osman Pehlivan, Vice President of the Eastern Macedonian Thrace Region, Metin Hacıosman, Vice President of the FEP Party, Murat Ahmet representing the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, Erdi Şerif, President of the Thrace Agricultural Cooperative and the people of the region.
