Sadık Ahmet Film met with people in Kocaeli
In the event held in Kocaeli Congress Centre, the film about Sadık Ahmet, who fought for the rights of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, was watched by the participants. At the same time, speeches were made in memory of Dr. Sadık Ahmet.
In his speech at the programme, Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Tahir Büyükakın said: "We watched the film prepared in memory of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, the leader of the struggle for rights and freedom of Western Thrace Turks, together with his esteemed wife, daughters and the presidents and members of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association. It is an extraordinary film. The story of the honourable legacy of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who died in a suspicious traffic accident, deeply affected us all".
Işık Ahmet expressed that he was proud to fight shoulder to shoulder with Sadık Ahmet. Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association Izmit Branch President Yüksel Öztürk presented flowers to Işık Ahmet.
Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association Izmit Branch President Yüksel Öztürk said: "There are some people in life who bind us tightly and become a light. Sadık Ahmet, for whom a film was made today, is one of the special people we are talking about. He devoted his life to the cause of the people of Western Thrace. He was a man of great cause who would give his life for this cause. We miss him more and more every year. I would like to thank the Metropolitan for the screening of this film which is very meaningful for us."
