Late leader of Western Thrace Turks Sadik Ahmet commemorated on his 75th birth anniversary in Turkey with the participation of hundreds of Western Thrace Turks, bureaucrats and politicians from Turkey.
Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) organized a commemoration event in Millet Library Conference Hall.
The event started with the exhibition of the personal belongings of Sadik Ahmet and his photographs. Also, a postage stamp and lapel badge were given to the participants.
The main event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the screening of the video about Sadik Ahmet's life and struggle.
The Ankara Fine Arts General Directorate Choir artists sang the songs that Sadık Ahmet loved, and the students from Western Thrace sang the anthem written in his memory.
Then, the editor of the book Nilüfer Erdem took to the stage for the representation. Erdem referred that she was all asking why Sadık Ahmet is loved so much. The answer is that there is no village that he did not visit and listened to everyone's problems.
His son Levent Sadık Ahmet said that their purpose is to make it known everywhere that the community in Western Thrace is a Turkish community.
After that, politicians and bureaucrats from Turkey expressed their feelings about Sadık Ahmet.
