Rhodope fishermen gather at Kocakum Beach for fishing competition

A fishing competition held at Kocakum Beach in the Rhodope region drew significant interest, with dozens of participants and spectators joining the event.
The contest took place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, beginning at 08:00. While it was initially scheduled to end at 15:00, the event was extended until 22:00 due to the lack of fish catches earlier in the day.
A total of 76 people registered, with 65 actively participating, while many others came to watch and support the competitors.
The winners were:
- Nevzat Milazim
- Alaattin Kuru
- Nihat Ahmet
The first-place winner received a fishing reel, while the second and third place winners were awarded fishing rods. In addition, thanks to the support of local sponsors, around 25 participants received various gifts through a raffle.
The event provided an enjoyable experience for both competitors and spectators, creating a festive atmosphere along the beach.
