Renowned Turkish artists to perform at Alantepe Festival
The program for the 2024 Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events has been announced, featuring performances by renowned Turkish artists. Organized by the Kozlukebir Municipality, this historic festival will span three days, from August 30 to September 1, 2024.
The Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events, a tradition upheld by Western Thrace Turks for seven centuries, will once again bring together local communities and visitors. The festival, which honors the region's rich cultural heritage, will be hosted by Kozlukebir Municipality, with Sinan Hasan serving as the festival's patron.
The event will kick off on Friday, August 30, 2024, with a religious service and Friday prayers at the mosque in Basırlıköy, the village of Alantepe Ağa Sinan Hasan. The following days will feature a variety of cultural activities, including performances by local folk dance groups and a concert by the local band, Restore.
In addition to these events, famous artists from Turkey will take the stage to entertain attendees. On Saturday evening, August 31, 2024, Ankaralı Yasemin will perform, followed by a concert by Deniz Seki on Sunday evening, September 1, 2024.

Post-Prayer: Departure ceremony for Alantepe Ağa Sinan Hasan from his home in Basırlıköy, accompanied by a traditional serving of pilaf and ayran to officially start the event.
3:00 PM: Alantepe Ağa Sinan Hasan visits villages within Kozlukebir Municipality.
5:30 PM: Final match of the Alantepe Football Tournament at Büyükköy Football Field.
