Religious officials and trustees gather at Büyük Sirkeli Iftar

The annual iftar event in Büyük Sirkeli village, a part of Kozlukebir Municipality, brought together religious officials and trustees from various neighboring villages, fostering a sense of unity and community spirit. The event took place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and has continued the long-standing tradition of sharing the blessings of Ramadan.

A Gathering of Faith and Unity
The iftar, organized by the Büyük Sirkeli Trustee Board, welcomed local religious officials, trustees, and prominent community members. The event served as an opportunity for neighbors to strengthen their bonds, celebrate community, and embrace the spirit of solidarity.

Upon arrival, guests were warmly greeted at the mosque’s haram door by the village's trustee board and leaders. They were then invited into the mosque, where tables were set up to host the evening meal.

Breaking the Fast and Blessings
As the Maghrib adhan (call to prayer) echoed through the village, attendees broke their fast together. Dr. Süleyman Taş, the religious official, offered a prayer before the meal, and after the meal, the Mayor of Kozlukebir, Erdem Hüseyin, and Mufti of Gümülcine, İbrahim Şerif, made greeting speeches. They thanked the Büyük Sirkeli Trustee Board, the village youth, and everyone involved in organizing the event.

In their speeches, they also extended their Ramadan and upcoming Eid wishes to all participants.

A Night of Reflection and Fellowship
After the Maghrib prayer, attendees gathered for the evening prayer, and afterward, they relaxed at the village coffeehouse, where they enjoyed conversations over coffee until the Isha prayer time.

Distinguished Guests
Representing Türkiye’s Consulate in Komotini, Deputy Consul Ali Tosun attended the iftar. He was greeted at the mosque entrance by young girls holding flowers, adding a special warmth to the evening.

The Büyük Sirkeli iftar exemplified the strength of the Western Thrace Turkish minority's cultural and religious unity, and the night ended with a sense of spiritual fulfillment and community togetherness.
