Religious Affairs Union in Western Thrace holds General Assembly, elects new leadership
The Western Thrace Mosque Religious Officials Association held its 11th elective general assembly in Gümülcine, resulting in the re-election of Erol Yoluç as president and the renewal of its governing and supervisory boards.
The meeting took place on April 22 at the premises of the Gümülcine Turkish Youth Union, bringing together religious officials and community representatives from across the region.
Leadership Confirmed Through Vote
Following the presentation of activity and audit reports, members proceeded to voting after discussions and proposals.
Erol Yoluç was re-elected president of the association, while Mesut Paşalı İsmail was elected vice president and Ahmet Arif Emin was appointed general secretary.
The election also determined the new supervisory board, completing the association’s governance structure for the upcoming term.
Community and Religious Participation
The assembly was attended by Ibrahim Serif, who delivered remarks during the meeting, alongside religious officials and association members.
The proceedings included the presentation of reports, discussion of organizational activities, and a formal voting process conducted in accordance with the association’s statutes.
Organizational Structure Finalized
The newly formed executive board includes both full members and alternate members, ensuring continuity in administrative operations. A separate supervisory board was also elected and assigned internal roles such as chairperson, vice chair, and secretary.

The general assembly marks a routine but significant moment for the association, which represents religious officials in Western Thrace and coordinates activities related to mosque administration and community services.
