A large crowd gathered at the mosque of Alıtçılar village on Sunday, 5 May 2025, for a hatim ceremony held for the students of the local Qur’an course operating under the Muftiate of Xanthi. The course is led by instructor Onur Şeh.

The event marked the completion of the students' Qur’an recitation and featured impressive performances that were warmly received by attendees. Students recited verses from the Qur’an, shared poems, and sang religious hymns.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt prayer offered by Xanthi Mufti Mustafa Trampa.

At the end of the event, several notable figures delivered greeting speeches, including Mustafa Trampa (Mufti and Chair of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board), Hüseyin Baltacı (Chairman of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association), and Xanthi MPs Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran.

Guests were treated to a traditional meal of rice with meat and ayran (yogurt drink), continuing the long-standing communal spirit of the region.

The ceremony highlighted both the religious education efforts within the Turkish minority community and the strong sense of unity among locals.
