Quran course students compete in Western Thrace religious knowledge contest Final 6
The competition, held each year across multiple regions, consists of three stages: elimination rounds, semi-finals, and the grand final. Following competitive semi-finals held in eight different regions, top-performing students advanced to represent their areas in the final round.
Participants delivered closely contested performances in the grand final, reflecting both strong preparation and a high level of engagement with religious education.
Winners Announced
The top three students in the 2026 competition were announced as follows:
1st Place: Berra Çakır Nazif — Bağlar Neighborhood Quran Course, Gümülcine Central
2nd Place: Sabri Deli Ali — Muratlı Village Quran Course (Region 4)
3rd Place: Ferişte İbram — Kozlukebir Mosque Quran Course (Region 3)
The event drew significant attendance from parents, educators, and community members. İbrahim Şerif, the Elected Mufti of Komotini, was also present and congratulated the participants, their families, and instructors. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of Quranic education and the role of such initiatives in strengthening community values.
The final event was hosted by Deputy Mufti Fehim Ahmet and concluded with an award ceremony.
