Qur’an course competitions conclude in Xanthi with enthusiastic participation

Final rounds of the inter-course competitions organized by the Muftiate of Xanthi were held on Saturday, May 31, at Koyunköy Mosque, drawing wide participation and showcasing students’ mastery in Islamic disciplines.
The event featured three categories:
- Beautiful Qur’an Recitation
- Beautiful Adhan (Call to Prayer) Recitation
- Tajweed Knowledge
Students from various Qur’an courses across Xanthi demonstrated their skills before a live audience and a jury of religious educators. The tajweed competition was conducted in written format under juried supervision, while recitations of Qur’an and adhan deeply moved the attendees.
All finalists received certificates and gifts, while the top-ranking students were awarded gold prizes in recognition of their achievements.
The ceremony was attended by:
- Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa
- Ali Tosun, Deputy Consul of Türkiye in Komotini
- Xanthi MP Burhan Baran
- Deputy Mayor of Xanthi Şaban Bandak
- Members of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board
- Representatives of various institutions and a large number of community members
The event was hosted by Rıdvan Topçu and Mustafa Kamu, staff members of the Muftiate of Xanthi.
In his closing speech, Mufti Trampa praised the participants:
“We are proud of our youth. They are the guardians of both our faith and cultural heritage.”

At the end of the ceremony, Mufti Trampa personally congratulated all students, while protocol members presented the awards. The event was celebrated as a testament to the strength of religious education and cultural continuity within the Turkish minority of Western Thrace.
