Police have solved 27 home burglaries that took place in the cities of İskeçe and Gümülcine, with the suspects believed to have gained more than €80,000 from the crimes.

Authorities reported that officers from the Public Security Unit of the Gümülcine (Komotini) Crime Investigation and Detection Department identified the activities of two individuals involved in the burglaries. A woman has been arrested, while the case file also includes a male accomplice.

Investigations revealed that between July and December 2025, the two suspects broke into 27 houses in İskeçe (Xanthi) and Gümülcine (Komotini). During the burglaries, they stole cash, gold jewelry, and a bank card, which they later used to withdraw money.

As part of the investigation, police seized burglary tools, clothing items, and mobile phones believed to be connected to the crimes.

Authorities estimate that the total financial gain from the burglaries exceeds €80,000.

The Gümülcine (Komotini) Crime Investigation and Detection Department is continuing the preliminary investigation into the case.
