In the news reflected in the Greek press, it was stated that the Xanthi Prosecutor's Office decided that the police officer who confessed that he hit 19-year-old Ayşe Kadri with his patrol car will be tried on the charge of negligent homicide.

It is stated that the police officer in question will remain in custody until the court date.

Event

Ayşe Kadri, a resident of Mizanli village, was seriously injured when she was hit by a police vehicle while walking on Wednesday, 6 December and died on Tuesday, 12 December at Kavala Hospital.

The 34-year-old policeman driving the patrol car, who called an ambulance and drove away from the scene after the accident, claimed in his first statement that he was "an eyewitness to the incident", but later admitted that he hit the young woman with his patrol car.

According to the news reports, the police tried to remove the impact marks by taking the car to a repair shop he knew after the accident.
