Plaques presented to contributors of the documentary ‘In the Footsteps of Mustafa Kemal in the Balkans’

A ceremony was held at the Komotini Turkish Youth Union (GTGB) on November 6, honoring those who contributed to the Western Thrace segment of the documentary In the Footsteps of Mustafa Kemal in the Balkans. The event was attended by a group from Türkiye organized by Koşukavak Tourism and members of the Eskişehir Rumeli Balkan Culture and Solidarity Association.

Plaques were awarded to former Rodopi MP Galip Galip, Dr. Koray Hasan, and music teacher Mümin Mümin for their valuable contributions. Rıfat Yakupoğlu, owner of Koşukavak Tourism, presented the awards.

In his remarks, Dr. Koray Hasan shared information about the foundation, activities, and challenges faced by GTGB. Former MP Galip Galip discussed the impact of Atatürk’s alphabet reform on Western Thrace. Additionally, Neziha Bilen, President of the Eskişehir Rumeli Balkan Culture and Solidarity Association, spoke about their association’s mission to preserve the heritage of their ancestors, who emigrated from Rumelia in 1923.

The program concluded with a group photo in front of the GTGB building.
