Özgür Ferhat brings the demands of contracted physiotherapists to the parliamentary agenda

SYRIZA Party Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat took into consideration the demands of physiotherapists working under contract with the National Health Organisation (ΕΟΠΥΥ) and brought the issue to the parliamentary agenda.

Stating that the continuation of the measures taken within the memorandums (ΕΟΠΥΥΥ) leads to the economic collapse of the physiotherapists working under contract with the National Health Organisation, Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat emphasised the fair demands of the physiotherapists with a parliamentary question addressed to the Ministry of Health. In his parliamentary question, Ferhat addressed questions to the Minister of Health Chrysohoidis.

The continuation of the measures taken under the Memorandums (ΕΟΠΥΥΥ) leads to the economic collapse of physiotherapists working under contract with the National Health Organisation.

Tens of thousands of physiotherapists who cannot benefit from Health Institution benefits have to cover their expenses themselves. The government's talk of economic development in an environment where it is destroying basic health services is an indication that it is mocking the society and the health community.

According to the statement made by the Greek Physiotherapists Association, an economic loss of 180 million Euros and more has occurred since 2013.

The loss of income arising from the non-payment of the receivables of the professionals and the implementation of the provision for the refund of the amounts of the previous years are caught in the twenty per cent (20%) tax threshold. This complex situation causes individuals to lose their receivables.

On Wednesday 25 October, referring to the strike organised by the Hellenic Association of Physiotherapists in front of the Ministry of Health, Özgür Ferhat and his parliamentary group colleagues asked the competent Minister, Mr. Chrysohoidis Chrysohoidis the following questions:

1- What will be done to review or repeal the measures implemented under the Memorandum of Understanding?

2- Is a budget increase to meet the needs of the professional group within the current planning?
