One person dies from West Nile virus in Rodopi

A person in Rodopi has died due to the West Nile Virus.
According to reports, the deceased, a 66-year-old individual, initially sought medical attention at the Sapci Health Center before being transferred to Alexandroupolis Hospital due to complications from the West Nile Virus. The person had been in the intensive care unit for an extended period and was also suffering from chronic conditions related to old age.
Meanwhile, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) has reported an increase in West Nile Virus cases in the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region. According to the latest data, there have been three cases reported in Rodopi, four in Evros, and one each in Xanthi and Drama.
