Notopoulou: Xanthi needs a coherent tourism development plan
Katerina Notopoulou, responsible of tourism of the main opposition party SYRIZA, held talks in Xanthi.
The former minister Notopoulou accompanied by SYRİZA Xanthi Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek, met with businessmen who have investments in the tourism sector in the region.
Notopoulou in her frank speech at the Hatzidaki’s House in Xanthi said; "We need not only a national strategy, but also a local or regional strategy, it must come primarily from the synergy of those engaged in tourism."
Former Minister and Deputy, SYRIZA party Tourism department head Katerina Notopoulou and the party's Tourism Department Coordinator Vangelis Kyriakou visited Xanthi on Tuesday, March 15th.
Notopoulou held contacts in Xanthi. Former Minister Notopoulou met with the chamber of commerce and industry, cooperatives, associations and producers in Xanthi and listened to their problems.
During her contacts in Xanthi Notopoulou was accompanied by Xanthi SYRIZA Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek, Party provincial organization secretary Giorgos Chatzitheodorou and some party members.
In her meeting with businessmen, especially those who have investments in the field of tourism, Notopoulou exchanged ideas on how to reactivate the border gate in Thermes, which allows tourists to pass through Bulgaria from Northern Europe to Xanthi.
As it will be remembered, the border gate used for tourism purposes in Thermes (Ilıca) has been closed for about two years due to the pandemic.
