In his welcoming speech, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, expressed his pleasure to be in Meddah Madrasah, an Ottoman architecture in Skopje, the heart of Macedonia, which is instrumental in bringing together very valuable names in the symposium and benefiting from the very valuable studies to be presented, expressed his gratitude for being invited to this symposium and conveyed the greetings of the Muslim Turks of Western Thrace.

"Western Thrace, like Skopje, has historical values and these values have been preserved and spread through generations by scholars and scholars through madrasahs and similar institutions. This heritage has played a great role in building our identity. Today, however, we are faced with many plans and projects aimed at weakening this heritage and turning the subject into an object. The aim of such efforts is to remove our basic values and to objectify society by removing it from being a subject. Being a subject is based on religious and national values, thoughts and institutions. When a society loses these values, it loses its ability to remain a subject and becomes objectified. An objectified society falls under the control of others and loses its originality. When we analyse our history, while creating this identity, there was decency and respect in the teaching of values. The heritage passed down from generation to generation was carried with the same care. This reflects the spirit underlying our civilisation. This spirit makes us subjects. When we lose this spirit, we lose our existence as human beings. Our struggle will continue to protect these values with the same decency and spirit, to pass them on to future generations, to maintain our religious and national identity and to carry our heritage into the future. As long as we exist, our endeavour to be subjective will continue and we will keep this heritage alive."

After the speeches, Mesut Kurtiş and Burhan Şabah performed Skopje Hymns. Afterwards, in memory of the first term graduates of Meddah Madrasah, gifts were presented to family members, artists and individuals and institutions that contributed to the realisation of the symposium.
