Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, visited the village of Kireççiler on Friday, 22 September upon the invitation of the village council and the parents of primary school students. Trampa was welcomed with the intense interest of the people as well as the councillor committee.

Mustafa Trampa was accompanied by Deputy Mufti Ahmet Hraloğlu and Mustafa Kamu, Rıdvan Topçu and Ersan Ömer from the muftiate staff.

Trampa, who gave a sermon before Friday prayers, informed the congregation about the issues on the agenda and stated that the way to succeed in the struggle is to believe.

After the Friday prayer, pilaf was served by the people of the village. The intense participation of young people in Kireççiler Mosque attracted attention. Mustafa Trampa paid special attention to the young people and gave them advice. He gave gifts to the students of Kireçiler Turkish Primary School and thanked the council committee and the community for the great interest shown to him.

During the visit, Xanthi SYRIZA MP Hüseyin Zeybek, Xanthi Turkish Union President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association President Hüseyin Baltacı, Friendship Equality Peace Party Vice President Bahri Belço, Union of Councillors President Ahmet Kara, Advisor of Xanthi PASOK MP Burhan Baran Gürhan Ömeroğlu, Deputy President of Çınar Association Bilal Budur and Kireççiler Board of Trustees were also present.

As it will be remembered, the board of councillors and parents of the Turkish minority primary school in the village of Kireççiler in Xanthi condemned the visit of the appointed regent of the Mufti, who is not recognised by the minority, and the primary school principal of Xanthi to the school on Monday 18 September.

In the statement made by the Committee of Councillors of Kireççiler Minority Primary School, it was emphasised that the school principal had not informed them about the visit and that they were uncomfortable with the incident. In the statement, it was stated that the only Mufti they recognised and accepted was Mustafa Trampa.
