MP Zeybek raises school building issue in Parliament again

İskeçe Yeni Sol MP Hüseyin Zeybek has once again brought the long-standing building issue of İskeçe Minority Middle and High School to the parliament.

In his parliamentary question directed at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Zeybek emphasized that the problem has remained unresolved for years.

The MP pointed out that the Ministry of Education’s decision to restore the school building is only a temporary solution and questioned when the restoration would begin and what concrete steps would be taken for a permanent resolution. He urged for immediate action to safeguard students' right to education.

Key Points from the Parliamentary Question:
🔹 Restoration is not enough: While the Ministry has committed to renovating the building, Zeybek stressed that a new and modern school building is an absolute necessity.

🔹 Structural limitations: The current building is classified as a protected historical structure, making significant modifications legally and financially difficult.

🔹 Urgent measures needed: Due to overcrowded classrooms and poor conditions, Zeybek proposed the installation of temporary prefabricated classrooms on the school's premises.

🔹 Government responsibility: The MP called on the Ministry to fulfill its commitment and provide a clear timeline for both the restoration and the construction of a new school.

Zeybek’s Questions to the Ministers:
1. When will the restoration of the school’s main building begin?

2. What concrete steps will be taken for the construction of a new school building as a permanent solution?

Zeybek underlined that the school’s current state poses serious difficulties for hundreds of students, making it imperative for the government to take swift and decisive action.
