Mother's Day event at Xanthi Turkish Union
The "Mother's Day" event, which is traditionally organised every year by the Women's Section of the Xanthi Turkish Union, was held on Sunday, 12 May this year at the Xanthi Turkish Union Lodge.
The event was hosted by Women's Section member Kübra Osmanoğlu and the opening speech was made by Zeynur Bargan, President of the Women's Section of Xanthi Turkish Union. Bargan congratulated those who contributed to the organisation and wished all mothers a happy mother's day. Bargan talked about the importance of mothers in society and their role in the upbringing of children.
After the speeches, the children from Xanthi and neighbouring villages who participated in the event organised in Xanthi Turkish Union recited poems on "Mother's Day". While the poems of the children were applauded by all the participants, the mothers participating in the event experienced emotional moments from time to time. All the children who participated in the Mother's Day celebration were given gifts by the Women's Section of ITB.
The event was attended by the members of the Women's Section of Xanthi Turkish Union, Aslı Ali, President of the Women's Section of Komotini Turkish Youth Union, Münevver Ago, wife of ITB President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Şerife Mustafaoğlu, wife of Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek, Ayşe Baran, wife of Xanthi MP Burhan Baran, Nuran Adem, wife of Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, Selma Veli, Vice President of the Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School PTA and other guests.
