Meaningful visit to Selanik by the Youth Branch of the İskeçe Turkish Union
The Youth Branch of the İskeçe Turkish Union organized a meaningful visit to Selanik on Sunday, January 4, combining historical reflection with cultural exploration.
As part of the visit, the group toured the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born, which has recently reopened to the public following the completion of restoration works. The visit offered young participants a unique opportunity to see the birthplace of the founder of the Republic of Türkiye in its renewed form.
During the visit to the Atatürk House, the group was welcomed by Aylin Karaman, Deputy Consul of the Republic of Türkiye in Selanik. The moment was described as both historically and emotionally significant for the participants.
Following the visit, the program continued with a city tour of Selanik. The young visitors explored key historical and cultural landmarks, including the city’s iconic White Tower, gaining deeper insight into Selanik’s rich heritage.
The trip concluded with free time for participants, allowing them to explore the city individually, shop, and enjoy Thessaloniki at their own pace, rounding off the visit with memorable experiences.
