Mayors of Komotini Giannis Garanis and Iasmos Caner Imam elected to the new Board of Directors
In a consensual atmosphere and with great participation yesterday afternoon in Komotini, the elections for the new Board of Directors of the Municipalities of the Region and the representatives of municipal councilors from the Region at the General Assembly of the KEDE. In the General Assembly of the PED and in the vote participated the Mayors and the elected in it by their councils Municipal Councillors. It should be noted that in essence there was a ballot paper in which mayors and councillors from the Southwest and PASOK KINAL participated, which received 118 votes, while there was also a ballot paper of the Popular Coalition which received only 3 votes.In total, 123 local government officials voted.
The consequence of this process was that all those who were candidates were elected and the interest shifted de facto to the cross-election.
Thus, in the new Board the Mayors were elected:

Stratos Kontos

The information wants new President of the Municipal Council of the Regional Council of Macedonia the Mayor of Nestos Savvas Michaelides who counts the most mayoral terms in the Region (he was also Mayor of Chrysoupolis).
From the candidates Municipal Councillors were elected: Apostolos Davis, Thomas Diamantidis, Charalambos Efstratiou, George Theodorides, George Kellis, Mesut Mehmet, Makis Papadopoulos, Dimitris Petrovits, Dinos Charitopoulos and George Christodoulides.
Finally, the councillors elected will participate in the General Assembly of the KEDE (the Mayors participate automatically) are: Konstantinos Vakirtzis, Antonis Gravanis, Eleni Incepelidou, George Lazaridis, Nikolaos Lazaridis, Sakis Lapatas, Christodoulos Mamsakos, Vassilis Mavridis, Christos Bosmotis and Stavros Stavrakoglou.

The Mayor of Iasmos Imam Tzanner was elected to the Board of Directors of the Regional Union of Municipalities (R.U.M.M.) of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, following the election process that took place yesterday in Komotini.
The Mayor of Iasmos made the following statement : "I would like to thank my fellow Mayors and Councillors from all over Eastern Macedonia and Thrace for their participation in the process and their support for me.
