Mayor of Komotini Garanis starts to announce his candidates
Gumulcine Mayor Yannis Garanis has started announcing the names of candidates from the Citizens' Society "Κοινωνίας Πολιτών" list for the local elections scheduled for October 8, 2023.
In the previous term, Mayor Garanis participated in the elections with strong candidates from his list and emerged as the winner.
Regarding the announcement of candidates, Mayor Garanis had remained silent for a long time, and citizens were curious about who would be included in the Citizens' Society list for the local elections on October 8.
Today, Mayor Garanis announced 35 names of council member candidates who will join him in the fight to win the elections again.
Among the candidates announced for the Gumulcine Municipal Council from the Citizens' Society list are Vildan Yusuf, a representative of the Rodopi Disabled Association from the minority community, Lawyer Mustafa Kara Huseyin, Accountant Mert Mahmut, Carpenter Turgay Kasif, Accountant Ismail Molla Mehmet, Lawyer Zehra Talip, Instructor Suha Mehmet, and Lawyer Seher Colak Huseyin.
A statement was issued from the Citizens' Society press office. The changed logo of the list, the symbolism of the colors used, and the meaning of the letters in the name were explained, and the names to be included in the list were shared with the public. The statement mentioned the following:
"Today, we present to you the new logo of our Citizens' Society «Κοινωνίας Πολιτών» list. It is a renewed logo dominated by green and orange colors, symbolizing renewal, growth, sociability, extroversion, intellectual innovation, tranquility, trust, loyalty, honesty, responsibility, optimism, success, purity, thinking, and quick decision-making.
The sketches in our logo represent the faces of our fellow citizens in an abstract manner, without identifying with any specific population group. The "P" line in the name indicates the continuity of the city.
Everyone is necessary; no one is unnecessary.
The political messages we aim to convey using our new logo follow the progressive thinking that leads from honesty to success in the following format:
Today, we present the first thirty-five (35) candidates from our group. The Citizens' Society list, which seeks to gain the votes of our fellow citizens with a new momentum in the October 8, 2023 elections, has renewed its efforts to maintain its self-governance.
The election law allows for an increase of up to 160 percent in the number of municipal council member candidates in each of our electoral districts based on the minimum of 35 candidates that a combination can have.
As an organization, we have chosen to fully utilize this possibility because we want to include as many of our fellow citizens as possible on our ballot paper, adopting the vision of the dynamically developing Gumulcine Municipality.
The candidates we announced today and all the other candidates who will be announced in the near future come from all layers of the Gumulcine Municipality, including social, cultural, professional, and educational aspects.
Service-oriented active citizens, who come together in the shared vision of the Citizens' Society list, are uniting for the present and future of Gumulcine.
