Leaders highlight solidarity at Ramadan iftar in Mustafçova, Western Thrace
Mayor Ahmet Kurt of Mustafçova expressed his satisfaction with the meaningful organization hosted in the village and thanked all contributors for their efforts.
The Mufti of İskeçe, Mustafa Trampa, underlined the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan and highlighted the significance of sharing the iftar table in Mustafçova with guests from “Motherland Türkiye.” He extended his gratitude to those who helped organize the event.
Tahir Büyükakın, Mayor of Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi, also addressed attendees, expressing his pleasure at meeting with members of the Turkish minority during the iftar dinner. In his remarks, Büyükakın stated:
“We came to break our fast together with our brothers and sisters. It is impossible for us to forget you; if we forget you, may our blood dry up. Forgetting you would mean forgetting ourselves.”
The Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Gümülcine, Aykut Ünal, greeted participants and thanked Tahir Büyükakın and his accompanying delegation for their visit. Ünal reaffirmed that Türkiye stands by its kin community at all times.
