Kinsmen living in the Balkan part of the Rhodope province meet at Mehrikoz Iftar
The iftar dinner organised in Mehrikoz village of Kozlukebir Municipality brought together the cognates living in the villages and neighbourhoods in the Balkan branch.
On 31 March 2024, Sunday evening, the iftar was held in the courtyard of the village mosque and the participants broke their fast after the call to prayer was read by the religious official Ismail Ahmet. The iftar prayer was made by Ebubekir Şahin, a religious official of the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Turkey.
The iftar programme organised by the people of Mehrikoz; Deputy Consul General Barış Çulha from the Consulate General of Turkey in Komotini, Consul General İsmail Dikme, Deputy Mufti of Komotini Fehim Ahmet, Mayor of Kozlukebir Erdem Hüseyin, Deputy Chairman of the FEP Party Metin Hacıosman, Murat Ahmet representing the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, Cahit Halil, Secretary General of Komotini Turkish Youth Union, Rıdvan Ahmet, Chairman of the Democratic Power List of Kozlukebir Municipality, Tarkan Multaza, Chairman of the Hope List of Kozlukebir Municipality, Ahmet Osman Pehlivan and Ahmet Kasap, Council Members of EMT Regional Presidency, Mehmet Çilingir, Councillor of Sofulu Municipality, Mehmet Bostancı, muhtar of Derbent, as well as a large number of kinsmen attended.
