Kermes event held for earthquake victims in Çilingir Neighbourhood
The kinsmen living in the Meriç region did not forget the earthquake victims who survived the earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes in Kahramanmaraş, which caused great destruction and deaths in 10 provinces, and which were described as the disaster of the century, and extended a helping hand to them.
While the kinsmen living in the region gave great support to the aid campaigns organized under the leadership of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board, they met (on February 19, 2023) at the charity bazaar organized by the Çilingir Neighborhood youth.
There was intense participation from the cognates living in the neighboring villages to the charity bazaar organized by the youth and supported by the neighborhood people.
The products sold in all the stands opened in the charity bazaar organized for the benefit of the earthquake victims and attended by hundreds of relatives were consumed by the cognates.
The kermes, which attracted great attention by the kinsmen from Meriç, was attended by the Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, the Deputy President of Kozlukebir Municipality Mehrikoz Region Ali Haseki, the Dimetoka Muslims Education and Culture Association President Süleyman Macır, opinion leaders Hasan Apti and Apti.
The young people of Çilingir Neighborhood, the notables of the village, Mehmet Bostancı and Mehmet Çilingir, welcomed the guests who came to the bazaar in the most beautiful way.
