Katsimigas criticizes the extension of the steel fence on the Turkish-Greek border

Kostas Katsimigas, who finds the construction of steel fences in areas where the Turkish-Greek border is on a distant river in settlements, meaningless, stated that only contractors will benefit from building fences along the river.
Katsimigas, who shared his opinion on the steel fence on his social media account, said, "The Prime Minister announced that, among other "development projects", the steel fence will be extended in the Evros (Meriç) region. The fence can be useful in the Karaağaç region, where the land border is located, in Ferecik and Peplos region. But I don't see how this will work where the border is on the river. Frankly, the fence is being built over the land on the Greek side of the river. And I ask, what will the Greek authorities do if refugees or migrants land on Greek shores unarmed and hungry? Will they die there? Will they ignore them? "Will they get bored and wait for the immigrants to come back? Or will they do their treatment and allow them to enter the country after a while? I'm sure the last one will be done. Then we will realize that the only winner is the contractor who made the fence."
