ITB Youth Branch to address “The Challenges of Being a Minority in Greece”
The second session of the “Youth Meetings” program, organized by the Xanthi Turkish Union (ITB) Youth Branch, will take place on Tuesday, November 26, at 7:00 PM at the ITB premises. Xanthi MP Burhan Baran will be the guest speaker, discussing “The Challenges of Being a Minority in Greece” with young attendees.
The event will focus on the social and daily struggles faced by the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace in Greece. Particular attention will be given to Greece’s failure to uphold rights guaranteed under international treaties, such as the Treaty of Lausanne. These issues often result in challenges related to national identity, religious and conscience freedoms, and education.
This event is significant for raising awareness and providing accurate information to young people about minority rights and the obstacles they encounter. The ITB Youth Branch aims to help minority youth better understand their challenges and contribute to finding solutions through these gatherings.
