The İskeçe Turkish Union held its year-end art exhibition on May 22, 2026, showcasing the creative works of students from the union’s painting course in a well-attended cultural event in İskeçe.

Hosted at the İskeçe Turkish Union premises, the exhibition featured artworks prepared by students throughout the academic year, drawing strong interest from visitors and art enthusiasts.

The program began with an opening speech by painting instructor Zeynur Bargan, who praised the students for their dedication and highlighted the productive course period. Bargan also thanked participants and families for their support.

Speaking at the event, Kerem Abdurahimoğlu congratulated the students, teachers, and parents, emphasizing the importance of encouraging young people in artistic and cultural activities.

Several prominent representatives of the Turkish minority community in Western Thrace also attended the exhibition and delivered greeting speeches, including Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Mustafa Trampa, and Aykut Ünal.

In a statement shared on social media, the Turkish Consulate General in Gümülcine congratulated the participating students and teachers, stating:

“We attended the İskeçe Turkish Union year-end painting exhibition. We congratulate our young brothers and sisters and their teachers who reflected their dreams and love through art.”

Certificates and Gifts Presented to Students
The exhibition attracted significant attendance from members of the local community. Students who had attended the course for three consecutive years received achievement certificates, while all participants whose works were displayed were presented with gifts.

Cultural Significance Highlighted
Participants noted that the event once again demonstrated the importance the Turkish minority community in Western Thrace places on cultural and artistic activities. The exhibition was widely seen as a meaningful contribution to preserving cultural identity and encouraging youth participation in the arts.
