İskeçe Mufti’s Office holds two separate programs for Mawlid al-Nabi
The first program was held in the Koru village of the Yaka region of İskeçe, attracting a large turnout from members of the local Turkish Muslim minority community.
Religious officials from the İskeçe Mufti’s Office recited the Mawlid-i Sharif and spoke about the significance of Mawlid Kandili. The program also highlighted Prophet Muhammad’s exemplary life, his moral character and the importance of reflecting his teachings in daily life.
İskeçe Mufti and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, Mustafa Trampa, also addressed participants, emphasizing the religious significance of Mawlid Kandili for Muslims.
The program was attended by İskeçe MP Hüseyin Zeybek, Turkish Union of İskeçe President Kerem Abdurahimoğlu, Regional Council members Fatih İsmailko, Salih Yörük and İbrahim Amuçka, FEP Party Deputy Chairman Bahri Belço, as well as numerous members of the local community.
The event concluded with prayers.
Women’s Mawlid program held in Ilıca
A second Mawlid Kandili program specifically for women was held on Saturday, August 22, in the 1st Neighborhood of Ilıca.
The event drew strong interest from women in the area. Speakers discussed the meaning and importance of Mawlid Kandili and emphasized the relevance of Prophet Muhammad’s exemplary life and moral values to everyday life.
The program ended with prayers in a warm and communal atmosphere.
The İskeçe Mufti’s Office also arranged Mawlid-i Sharif recitations at mosques across the region as part of the Mawlid Kandili observances.
