İskeçe Mufti’s Office announces Ashura gatherings across villages during Muharram
The Mufti’s Office in İskeçe has announced a series of Ashura Day events to be held in various villages during the Islamic month of Muharram, aiming to strengthen community ties and preserve long-standing traditions.
According to an official statement, the events are intended to pass down the Ashura tradition to younger generations while emphasizing its spiritual and cultural significance. The office highlighted that Ashura represents not only a traditional offering but also a symbol of unity, shared tables, and collective remembrance of moral and spiritual values.
The Mufti’s Office invited all residents to participate in the programs, which will be organized across several villages in the region.
The schedule of events is as follows:
28 June 2026 (Sunday): Koyunköy, Kırköy
29 June 2026 (Monday): Misvaklı, Elmalı
1 July 2026 (Wednesday): Ketenlik, Muhacir
4 July 2026 (Saturday): Şahin
Organizers stated that the programs will focus on the meaning of Muharram, the importance of sharing, and strengthening bonds of brotherhood within the community.
