Iftar tradition continue in Çilingir Mahalle village
On Wednesday 27 March, the residents of Çilingir neighbourhood showed great interest in the iftar organised by the residents of Çilingir neighbourhood.
İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Komotini, performed the iftar prayer after the evening call to prayer.
İbrahim Şerif, President of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini, and Aykut Ünal, Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini, delivered welcoming speeches.
Mufti Şerif thanked the people of the village and Consul General of Komotini Aykut Ünal for their participation in the iftar programme.
In his speech, Consul General Ünal thanked the people of the village who contributed to the iftar organisation and expressed his pleasure to share the iftar table with the compatriots.
Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, President of the Friendship Equality Peace Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of the Komotini Turkish Youth Union Sedat Hasan attended the iftar in Çilingir Neighbourhood, Murat Ahmet representing the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, Sofulu Municipality Councillor Mehmet Çilingir, President of Thrace Agricultural Cooperative Erdi Şerif, Headman of Derbent village Mehmet Bostancı, trustees from the neighbouring villages and many cognates attended.
